Why do we require the Whole Armor Of God?

Eph 6 reminds us that Spiritual Warfare is fought by every living human being, whether they realize this truth or not! The most vulnerable soldier is the one who doesn’t realize he/she is in a battle, or that the battle has begun.

Ever see a battle where one Army is so confused that they cannot engage?

The unholy people are without defenses against a common enemy!

Spiritual Warfare requires F.O.C.U.S.! “Fixed On Christ Under Stress!”

Satanic forces are constantly in contact with humans and have been since we were created. As a result, they have influenced our cultures since the beginning of that time!

^12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against..”

• principalities,
• against powers,
• against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
• against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Again, these are the four main levels of demonic attacks waged against us daily.

They attack any vessel that is either willing, unprotected, or vulnerable, and age has never been, nor will it ever even be a factor!

Their goal is the fall of the entire human race, not a few, but all! They will never discriminate, as man does, they want us all!

The “End Game” is the final decision as to how, and where we will all spend our eternity!

Just because you don’t see a weapon in my hand, does that mean I am not carrying one?

God wants us to be armored and armed so that we are able to protect ourselves when attacked, as well as to remain strong and prepared at all times, and so that we are able to help those weaker than ourselves.

Every piece of the Armor Is connected to our mind in some way:

The Mind Controls all movement, thoughts, and decision-making processes, and your mind is constantly, consistently under attack!

It is within our mind that we take these actions:

Mind       Helmet of Salvation (Accept Salvation)

Mind       Breastplate of Righteousness (Obey God)

Mind       Girdle/Belt of Truth (conduit -Transparency w/ God)

Mind       Gospel of Peace (adhesive -Trust in God)

Mind       Shield of Faith (sealant– Faith in God’s Promises)

Mind       Sword of the Spirit (engine – Know the Power)

• If the mind is corrupt, so is the person’s entire being (see Matt 6:19-23)

 Helmet:

• The purpose of the Helmet of Salvation is to protect conscious thoughts.
  • We protect the mind by protecting each gateway to it.
    • Ear Gate (sinful words, sounds, music)
    • Eye Gate (sinful or lude sights)
    • Mouth Gate (sinful, harmful, or unholy words)
    • Nose Gate

 Breastplate:

The purpose of the Breastplate of Righteousness is to protect the subconscious thoughts.

• Memories
  • Past hurt, pain, fear, and doubts all stored here!
  • Prevent bad memories from corrupting us.
  • Create a healing environment to combat hatred.
  • Giving us the strength to overcome bad experiences.
  • Give new perspective to old behavior patterns (learned/develop)
• Future Plans/Ideas
• Hopes and Dreams

Though the heart is referenced figuratively in scripture, it is merely a metaphor to illustrate things stored within the subconscious mind.

Belt Of Truth:

The purpose of preparing one’s feet with the Gospel of Peace is to protect where one’s mind and feet carry them! (Our Pathway)

So then it is no wonder that truth is at the Epi-Center of the Whole Armor of God! God is righteous and perfect in all his ways, he cannot, and will not consort with the likes of deceit!

Truth is the pathway to Humility, Surrender, and Obedience to God.

Gospel Of Peace:

The purpose of preparing one’s feet with the Gospel of Peace is to protect where one’s mind and feet carry them!

1. Without peace there is fear, doubt, and worry.
   1. All 3 above immobilizes us (stops our growth)
   2. Circumstances now control our focus, not God (Lost job, spouse)
   3. Lost focus prevents us from being able to hear God speak to us.
   4. Not hearing God creates distance between us and Him.
2. Peace brings us closer God as we rely upon him more and more.
   1. God controls circumstances, circumstances don’t control God.

Shield Of Faith:

Without faith there is no salvation, righteousness, truth, or peace, neither does the Word activate in your life.

Faith, then, is the sealant which covers all pieces of the Armor of God! It is the protectant which covers them from the weathering of Spiritual Warfare.

Without Faith the Bible says that “it is impossible to please God”, so if you can’t please God you don’t get the same sort of blessings, protection, peace of mind, or covering!!! We are rewarded according to our trust belief, and relationship with God. No Faith, no relationship!

 Sword Of The Spirit:

The Sword of the Spirit is the engine which powers the Whole Armor of God! It is the power which brings to life and engages the invisible forcefield created for Saints called the Whole Armor of God! Each piece of Armor receives it power directly from the Word of God!

In the Spirit, the Sword’s purpose is no different. The Sword of the Spirit/Word of God is the weapon which most effectively pierces the hearts of men/the subconscious and conscious thoughts! The Word breaks down strongholds, barriers, and high places built up by the flesh, such as pride, hatred, and malice!
