Surrender Part 2 "Are You Prepared To Surrender?"
February 09, 2025 | Pastor Charles P. Akins, Sr.
Passage: Galatians 2:20-21
Intro:
Today we are told that to surrender is to lose one’s freedom. However, when this surrender is under the power of God, we can only benefit! Thus, the reasoning for the world’s frantic design to disengage us from true spiritual surrender.
Prop:
The wise will surrender themselves to God and enjoy all of the rewards that are guaranteed, such as love, joy, and peace.
Body:
Last week we discussed one’s want/desire to surrender.
Is it in your heart to surrender to Yah, or to anyone?
This week we shall cover the question:
- Are you prepared to surrender?
Prepared: properly expectant, organized, or equipped
When it comes to this spiritual subject of being prepared, we will lean more toward the emotional and psychological connection of the idea of preparation.
Thus, being prepared involves having one’s mind and spirit in-tune.
In order to be prepared to surrender spiritually you have to have made up your mind that nothing else is as important as your spiritual surrender.
In other words, the person who has decided that they wish to surrender will be prepared for all subsequent consequences and expectations.
Even if you decide that you want to surrender there are necessary steps you will have to take in order to do so!
One must prepare one’s self:
- Spiritually
- Mentally
- Physically
- Emotionally
- Relationally
Being prepared to surrender involves doing the required work:
- Have you done the work required to surrender to Yahuwah?
- There is mental work that one must do first
- Do you know what is expected of you upon surrendering?
- Do you know what is required of you?
- Is your mind set to relinquish your pride and will?
- Have you decided to cut all ties which could prevent your success?
Preparation is about getting your ducks in a row.
- You must clear a pathway that allows you to progress
“Change from without must be preceded by change from within!”
Humans must first have a change of heart before they have a change of mind, and or in behavior!
Once you are prepared to surrender you will automatically prioritize according to value.
The process of surrender begins with the desire and preparedness to surrender.
We must, therefore, be in the mental space necessary to relent to Yah’s Will.
Being in the right mental space will cause you place value where necessary.
