"You Were Not Created To Worry!"

Passage: Genesis 1:27-31

Introduction:

Fear is a sign of doubt, and doubt is a sign of a lack of confidence. Confidence in self, destiny, dominion, and purpose. We do not glory in our flesh, as Godly people, but rather in our Lord!

Proposition:

The world wants you to live in fear and doubt so that it can dictate your actions and trajectory. However, Christ came to set us free. Free from doubt, Free from fear. Free from sin and shame! If you want to be free, I recommend Jesus!

Body:

There is much discourse and debate today surrounding the lies, paganism, and capitalism that shrouds what we refer to as Christianity.

There is much merit to the issue when one considers that groups such as the Proud Boys, Arian Brotherhood, and KKK refer to themselves as “Christian.”

I can see how some people would, in fact, take issue with this notion.

These lies and false narratives are meant to manipulate and control minds.

I must say, however, the definition of the word “Christian” is to be ‘Christ-Like!’

Please understand that the failure of those claiming to be “Christ like” is no indictment upon Christ himself, but upon their personal choices and character!

Most of White America looks at people such as Geoffrey Dahmer, Charles Manson, Payton S. Gendron, or any of the Police shootings as isolated incidents, and not representative of them as a culture, or race of people.

But what is the difference between the mass shootings and the systematic disenfranchisement of African Americans, except one is a physical, and the other economical death, which often inherently results in physical death.

Simply another false narrative meant to control and manipulate minds.

What am I saying? I am saying that you cannot judge a book by its cover.

Christ was not a hate filled, lying, confused, bigoted person. In short, none of these people that I have mentioned are true reflection of what actual Christians represent. They are using a word they don’t understand to define themselves.

Christianity is a way of life, not a label.

Christ came to prove that we could live free from, and not to parle in sin.

Christ didn’t fear people or circumstances, and he neither doubted his Divinity, nor the power of His Father in Heaven. As such, he lived an unapologetically holy life, filled with love and service to and for others!

If we are indeed, to be Christ-like then we must live the same way! Without fear!

In the beginning, as noted within Gen 1:28, Man was given dominion over every living thing! Including Satan and his minions.

Dominion – to subjugate, prevail, to reign or have rule over

In the Book of Genesis, we see that God originally constructed this world to bend at our will. Our will, at that time remained in sync with that of God!

Therefore, we were acknowledged as dominant in the earth!

However, upon sinning, we ushered the will of sin and the flesh into this world. As a result, we subjugated our reign over the world to that of Satan and his Dark Kingdom.

Now, without dominion, fear, doubt, and anguish would automatically creep in.

  • Who created me, and what is my purpose?
  • If I am not in control, who is?
  • What will happen to me?
  • How will I live?
  • Do I even matter?

These are but a few questions which plague the minds of the insecure, the fearful.

Satan attacks us by making us believe that we need, want, or are missing something. The Dark Kingdom’s most powerful weapon against us is our own mind!

Demons have the distinct advantage because, they have studied us since the beginning of our creation, and we cannot see them. Remaining invisible, we oftentimes believe that thoughts they whisper to us, are in fact our own!

Being unaware of an enemy will place us at an extreme disadvantage, and this benefits them greatly.

So, what happens when we are attacked by the enemy?

  1. Unclean Spirit whisper thoughts into your ear.
  2. They convince you that the thoughts originate within you.
  3. They convince you that others are against you.
  4. They convince you that others believe you to be the devil!
  5. They twist the words of others by making you focus #4 (You hear wrong)
  6. They convince you to act on sinful impulses/thoughts.
  7. They cause you to become ashamed of your actions/thoughts
  8. They convince you to hide your actions/thoughts from others because
    1. They will judge you
    2. They will blame you
    3. They will reject you
  9. They convince you to isolate yourself from others
    1. You cannot get help
    2. You cannot talk things out
    3. You believe what they say because no one is around
      1. Even though you have shut people out of your life
  10. Once you are isolated the belief that there is no hope is logical.

God created us with a sense of purpose and belonging.

When we understand whose, we are, and who we are in Christ, then II Tim 1:7 becomes relevant to us. “God has not given us the spirit of fear…”

This is true to those who have dominion over the earth.

We are reminded in II Tim 1 that the Spirit of the creator dwells within us. God’s power frees us from sin, doubt, guilt, shame, and fear!

If we understand this, then we are aware that this fear, doubt, anxiety, and any negative thought pattern comes from someone else! The enemy!

God, who has dominion over all, has placed that Spirit within us, the power of which is ignited by our obedience to God!

Thusly so, we then regain our intended dominion over everything, including Satan.

The fact is this, God breathed the breath of Life into Man. (Gen 2:7) This was a portion of God’s DNA since God is a Spirit.

As such, we are connected to God from birth! We have but to return to our original relationship with God.

In Mat 11 Jess offers to take our burdens unto himself, or to relieve us of them.

Returning to such a state removes fear, doubt, worry, guilt, and shame.

This also establishes within us that God is our strength, which is why II Tim 2:17 reminds us that with Christ Jesus we are:

  1. Strong/powerful by DNA
  2. Filled with Love
  3. Mentally sound and focused as we seek God

Christ bears our burdens, what have we to worry, fear, be anxious about?

Conclusion:

Your purpose doesn’t include fear, doubt, worry, discord, or anxiety.

Your purpose includes love, peace, harmony, worship and praise! These are your strengths, given to you by God!
