"While You Were Sleping"

Passage: Exodus 12:29-36

Text: Ex 12:29-36

Title: “While You Were Sleeping!”

Body:

                                                            Are You Ready?

Give our testimony of the money we received at 3:30am while the government was shut down!

The “Witching Hour” is supposedly from midnight until 3:00am! So, much like with Daniel 10:12-13, perhaps the Angel of the Lord assigned to care for us was under attack by the evil ones and prevailed at 3:30am!

While we are asleep Yah is always at work:

  • Speaking favor into the ears of those who can help us
  • Protecting our homes, lives, family, and other loved ones
  • Creating miracles, healing bodies, sustaining lives

While you were sleeping last night:

  • Your home could have burned down
  • A tree, airplane, etc. could have fallen on your home
  • Someone in your family could have passed away
  • Intruders could have broken into your home and harmed your family
  • You could have lost every dime you have, or your job
  • You, your spouse, child(ren) could have died in your sleep
  • You could have awakened blind, deaf, dumb, or paralyzed

We often take Yah and what He does for us every day for granted.

We aren’t mindful of the many ways God protects and provides every night.

  • We don’t see the demonic attacks he thwarts, accidents he prevents
  • We don’t see death/destruction hovering over our homes/lives
  • We aren’t aware of the favor God shows on jobs, among people etc.

Though the title is “While You Were Sleeping”, it is analogous of the idea that Yah is constantly at work in our lives in the background.

We may not keep Him in mind at all times, but He is always watching over us!

This is a sermon of reminder that we know not all that God does, or has done.

We actually bask in the idea that we will arise on the next day:

  • Who promised you that would happen?
  • When it happens, who was responsible?
  • Did you awaken yourself, family, or friends?
  • Did you make your heart continue to beat, your ears to hear, eyes see?
  • How do we, so casually, expect to simply arise each day?

We all owe God all glory, honor, and praise for continued grace and mercy.

So why don’t most people want to give it to Him:

  • Sin, the arrogance of sin causes us to ignore reality
  • Sin makes us believe that Yah owes us something
  • Sin makes us think only the faults of others count, not ours
  • Sin makes some believe they will not be judged
  • Sin tells us there is no afterlife, just here and now

God has continued to watch over Humanity:

  • Genesis – Fallen Angels assigned to watch over Mankind
  • God sent His Holy Spirit to watch over those in Covenant Relationship
  • Go protects the safety and overall function of the Earth

Sleeping or awake, the Lord God Yah is watching over, protecting, and providing for us all daily, regardless of relationship.

  • We all owe Him thanksgiving, love, and appreciation!

Two goals:

  1. How can I apply this and commit to be better? (Change of mind)
  2. How can I apply this and commit to do better? (Change in actions)

Conclusion:

Yah is asking you to change. Are you willing to change? Are you ready?
