Text: II Tim 2:15, Rev 1:14-15, 2:18 (Do KJV and NIV comparison)

Title: “The Importance of Studying”

Intro: Saints, have you ever read verse in the Word in two different versions, an they don’t seem to say the exact same thing?

Prop: We must seek the LORD before and after studying His Word, so that the Holy Spirit will guide what the Word is trying to tell/show us!

Body:

                                                            Are You Ready?

Now, let’s talk Family! Can we talk?

We should seek Yah and study His Word with specific purpose and intent!

Ask yourself, what is my purpose?

Ever wonder why Yeshua being “Black” is so disturbing to some “Christians”?

Many European, self-proclaimed SMEs, claim that the description of Christ in Revelations 1 doesn’t illustrate He was a Black Man. Why? Does it harm the fragile ego and delicate sensibilities of some to learn that everything isn’t about them as they have taught in “their history”. Far be it from some people to accept that the Lord and Savior they claim to serve came as a Black Man!

Catholic Leadership already know this. As early as 2nd Century they began changing the depiction of the ethnic origin of the Hebrew people to fit the narrative of a European Savior and Chosen Ones of the world.

Many of our people accepted Yeshua as a European, before they knew better, because what was most important to them was their Salvation, not His “race”!

Why does the ethnicity of Yeshua even matter at all, right?

Facts reveal lies. Lies reveal ulterior motives and wicked intentions.

Let’s review Rev 1 & 2:

  • KJV Rev 1:14 says His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow. (NIV says “was”, one reference is plural the other singular)
    • “Like wool” compares texture, Strongs G5616 meaning “as though wool”, meaning having the appearance of wool. Wool isn’t pure white naturally, so the second comparison of “white as snow” is employed.
    • “As snow” is a comparison of color Strongs G5613 meaning “even as”
    • Why would there be two identical comparisons of the same things?
    • There is no need to say His head and hairs are white in color twice
    • One emphasis speaks to the texture, the other the color of the hair
  • This scripture describes Yeshua’s facial hair and the hair on His head
    • Two distinct descriptions people either can’t or don’t wish to see
    • His “hair” speaks of facial hair, and His “head” the hair on His head
      • For this reason, the KJV uses the plural tense of “were”
      • Oddly, NIV mentions only the “hair on His head” and “was”
    • Rev 1:15 & 2:18 both give a descript skin color
      • Conveniently, some identify sections of these scriptures as imagery until they speak of the description of hair color.
      • Who decides if one part was imagery, why isn’t it all imagery then?
        • Declaring themselves, Subject Matter Expert makes them right
      • All things equal would mean His hair wasn’t white in color either, so where does one draw the line, and what is the truth?
      • What is the purpose of using imagery concerning His appearance?
    • Goal Post moving is a signature ideology of many people who claim to have found Yeshua, but refuse to accept/teach/preach His actual ethic origin
      • By this I mean changing/shifting a narrative to fit their ideology
      • If you cannot accept His Ethnic Origin then you haven’t accepted Him

I am saying plainly, no convert to a religious practice or ideology, can ever be considered the Subject Matter Expert.

  • There will always be a question of what is lost in their translation.
    • A native to a language knows better than one taught the language

Why is Yeshua’s ethnicity important?

  • Truth, we must know the truth of who the Chosen People are
    • If they are chosen, but unaware they have a right and need to know
    • If we say we love God we need to know who they are
    • If they aren’t who we believe they are we have been lied to
  • For the sake of true Salvation, Yeshua’s ethnicity is important
    • All we have learned about Yeshua was founded within ethnicity
      • It afforded a group moral and social superiority
      • It created a false stigma of Supernatural Preference
      • It awarded “Gate Keeper” status of the Word in error
    • Why was His ethnicity taught/changed if it wasn’t important?
    • What lies have been told which deemed His ethnicity important?

As Believers we must be able to accept Yeshua, regardless of His ethnicity.

  • If your love/obedience depends upon His ethnicity, are you a Believer?
  • Why is this idea of a “Black” Messiah such a problem for so many people?
  • Why was He never described as having a European appearance, but always depicted that way?
  • Middle East Africa was invaded by Europeans many times over, was it not?
  • If the Ruling Party of the US today doesn’t resemble its original people, why should Middle East Africa after the same sort of invasion?

More importantly, we must study the Word of God with intent, rather than merely reading verses to read!

The real issue is developing a Holy Spirit filled covenant with Yah, and earnest desire to learn the truth about Him and what He desires from us.

We “study to show ourselves approved unto God”, not men!

Two goals:

  1. How can I apply this and commit to be better? (Change of mind)
  2. How can I apply this and commit to do better? (Change in actions)

Conclusion:

Yah is asking you to change. Are you willing to change? Are you ready?
