Passage: Matt. 23:25-28

Text: Matt 23:25-28, Rev 3:15-18 (Background Jam 1:6-8)

Title: “The Dangerous Double Mind!”

Body:

                                                            Are You Ready?

Now, let’s talk Family! Can we talk?

We should seek Yah and study His Word with specific purpose and intent!

Ask yourself, what is my purpose and intent?

What does it mean to be of a “Double Mind”?

  • Your opinion is affected by the situation (Faithless)
    • Good situation, good attitude, bad situation, bad attitude
  • One way one moment, and another in another
  • You flounder, lack consistency, conviction, and focus (Faith and Behavior)
  • Your Uncommitted (Holy/unholy, Believe/Don’t believe)
  • You declare something you neither follow, nor believe
  • Double minded people can be hypocritical (Do as I say, not as I do)
    • We should not say one thing and then do another
  • Sin lurks within the Double Mind (Liar, manipulator, cheater, thief..etc.)

How we Identify Double Minded People:

  • Dishonest about who they are and what they think/feel
  • Cannot be trusted (unstable, which person will show up, if at all?)
  • They don’t have a stable thought process or will
  • Will talk themselves out of success and blessings (Lack Faith)
  • Have a weak Faith Walk (Can’t be trusted to inspire others)
  • They can be easily convinced by others
  • They say one thing and do something else

The question becomes:

  • Which person are you?
    • Is the first response your true character?
    • Did you lie to cover up something or achieve a goal?

Yah’s perspective concerning a double mind:

  • God finds this nature distasteful and even offensive (Rev 3)
  • He refuses to aide those who have a double mind
  • Heb 11:6, you can’t please God with a double mind
    • Yah doesn’t work with faithless people
    • Faithlessness is an afront to Yah’s Providence

Progress is about relationship be it Spiritual or Natural!

Relationship is about trust and love!

  • Without Love there will not be trust!
  • Your faith is a signal for your love, a mirror reflection of it!

You cannot say you love Yah and you don’t trust in Him.

  • All those who trusted in God obeyed Him because they loved Him.

Double Minded people don’t truly love God, which is why they can’t trust Him.

True Love requires nothing. But it offers everything!

  • What did Yeshua require of Man Kind before He died for them?

Two goals:

  1. How can I apply this and commit to be better? (Change of mind)
  2. How can I apply this and commit to do better? (Change in actions)

Conclusion:

Yah is asking you to change. Are you willing to change? Are you ready?

Remember, let’s stay focused! (F.O.C.U.S.) Fixed On Christ Under Stress!
