"Separation Before Elevation!"
September 17, 2023 | Pastor Charles P. Akins, Sr.
Passage: Acts 9:6-13
Intro:
Let’s be honest folks! We don’t always, if ever, truly understand God’s Work in our lives! I am guilty of being clueless about many things God was, and is doing in my own life, and I am Pastor!
Prop:
If God is calling you to do a work, or to a closer relationship with him, I am encouraging you to wait on God in a good spirit. Learn to Trust God!
Body:
We can learn a great deal from brother Paul’s reaction to God’s Calling and instruction. How we start isn’t always how we finish!
What happened to Saul:
- Saul was blinded by Heavenly Light. (v3)
- Yashua spoke to Saul (called out to him v4)
- Saul humbled himself. (v6)
- Yashua gave him directions. (Sent Saul to consecrate/separate himself v6)
- Saul followed the directions he received. (He was obedient v8)
- Led by the Holy Spirit, Saul went on a 3 day fast with prayer. (v9)
- God equipped Saul with the power to complete his work. (v17-18)
There is always a distinct period of “Separation before Elevation”:
- You are separated to be equipped for your destiny.
- Spiritual Gifts that lay dormant must be awakened.
- You must learn to operate in your calling.
- You are separated to learn to hear/identify God’s Voice.
- You are separated to make you unrecognizable to those who knew you through your wounds.
- The process of healing requires isolation and minimal movement.
- You are separated to prove that God has done the work.
- No man, not even you is able to take credit for the work.
- You are separated to be regenerated again.
- There is one Baptism, but many fillings. (New Level, New devil)
- Sometimes the strength necessary
- Your strength level must also be increased.
- You will receive a higher level of endowment of the Holy Spirit.
- You are separated to increase your ability to Humble yourself.
- You cannot hear from others while humbling yourself to God.
- People’s opinions conflict with God’s Agenda for you.
- People won’t understand what God is doing in your life. (v9:7)
- They can cause you to fear moving into your destiny.
- You cannot hear from others while humbling yourself to God.
Man seems to forget that everyone cannot accompany us on every part of our journey.
- Sometimes (Seasons, Reasons, Lifetime)
- Sometimes we are accompanied for part of the journey.
- Sometimes not at all! (Isaiah walked alone)
Conclusion:
Just because you are isolated doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
Just because you don’t see the smoke doesn’t negate the fire!
Be prepared to walk alone sometimes, and to simply focus on seeking God’s Voice, Will, and direction.
“Think it not strange the fiery trials which is to try you.” Be ready for greater!
