Intro:

We are on the cusp of a New Year, and if we can take anything into this new year that would benefit us, we must take a new attitude.

Prop:

There is a better way of doing things than yours! We simply need to allow God to direct us.

Body:

We come to Yah to be changed/receive help only when we realize that we can’t do it, and what we think is obviously wrong or doesn’t work!

We must accept the limited ability, knowledge and resources that we possess!

Acknowledge and appreciate the Sovereignty and Providence of Yah!

Proverbs 16:25 says:

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

The song “It’s Not About Us!” also says, but it’s about Jesus/Yashua?

The song proceeds to list some of the things Yashua has done and does for us:

• Money
• Titles
• Fame

It reminds us that we:

• Present Our bodies as a Living Sacrifice/Humble ourselves
• We must be transformed in our mind
• We get with Yahuwah’s Program He doesn’t get with ours

Yah made this world perfect and because we had Free Will we messed it up!

Leave things to a human and they will be destroyed, look at history it is proof!

Some of the things he has done:

• Died on Calvary
• Saved our souls
• Healed our bodies
• Protected us
• Blessed us with all we have

The Bible reminds us that while we were yet sinners, he died for our sins.

The problem with Man is that the basis of our thoughts is sinful!

Isaiah 64:6 says:

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

So how can our opinions be anything but wrong people!

How is it that we don’t know that we need Yah to help us do the right thing?

Our mind has to be changed because we think in a carnal fashion!

We also see only part of the issue with our finite understanding.

Galatians 5:16-21

^16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

¹⁷ For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

¹⁸ But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

²⁰ Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

You’ve tried it your way your whole life! Your way just won’t work Saints!

For this reason, we must rely upon Yah’s perspective.

Rom 12:1-2 tells us that our mind frame must be altered!

• Present your body – humble yourself by offering your will up to Yah
  • Realize that Yah’s Way is right, and your way is wrong
  • Ask Yah to change you as He sees fit
  • This is the very least that we can do
• Allow Yah to transform your mind as you pray, meditate, and study the Word
  • The fruit of your labor should reveal holiness and humility

This happens when we realize that we are the problem, and our ways don’t work.

We should put ourselves in the position to be victorious.

If you want to live a peaceful life filled with joy learn this:

• The safest place in the whole wide world is in the Will of God
• Your desires don’t really matter
• Most of your worries aren’t real worries
• Your turmoil stems from a lack of faith
• Your way of doing things will keep bringing you trouble
• Your gratitude can determine your altitude
• Your Peace is in your Praise
• Keep your eyes on the prize, and your focus on Yahuwah

Conclusion:

Trusting the Creator of all existence makes a lot more sense than trusting myself!
