Passage: Romans 8:31-39

Text: Rom 8:31-39

Title: “From Selfish To Selfless! (The Journey of Salvation)

Intro:

We must give up all to gain Christ! However, in doing so we learn to esteem the things of others higher than ourselves! We become like Christ, we sacrifice!

Prop:

If your true desire is to be like the Holy One Yeshua, then allow Him to change you.

Body:

                                                            Are You Ready?

Phl 2:2-5

“Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

Coming to Yah:

  • We are to allow nothing, nor anyone to prevent us from loving God
  • We are to place our relationship with Yah in the forefront of our life
  • We are to devote our lives and obedience to Yah
  • Only through totally obedience to Yah do we learn to submit self

Serving Others through obedience to Yah:

  • Our mind becomes like Christ’s
  • We tend to the needs of others and trust Yah will care for us
  • Sacrificing for others becomes a desire, not a chore for Saints
  • Things of the world don’t hold the same meaning to transformed minds
  • Resources are just that “resources” to fill others needs
  • Our heart begins to cry out for those in pain, not for vengeance or violence

When the mind of a Believer has been transformed you see everything differently.

  • You seek after peace and the welfare of others
  • You develop concern for the souls of men
  • You wish to please the Father in Heaven by doing His will in Earth
  • You begin to see men and sin the way the Lord sees them
  • You hate no man, but you hate all sin

Priorities of Believers:

  • Yah’s Will, Communion w/ Yah, obedience to Him
    • Spiritual Transformation of one’s will and person
  • Spreading His Word through acts of love
    • Showing the love of Yah through concern for others, not self
  • Helping others, holy and unholy, to see Yah in you

  1. Biblical Foundation: True Salvation makes you Christ-like “Christian”.
  2. Lesson Aim: That we may be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
  3. Life Application: We must take a daily account of ourselves and ways.

Two goals:

  1. How can I commit to be? (Change of mind)
  2. How can I commit to do better? (Change in actions)

 Conclusion:

Yah is asking you to change. Are you willing to change? Are you Ready?
