"Eyes That Cannot See!"

Passage: Matthew 13:10-17

Intro:

Many Preach the Word of God, but do they truly understand its meaning? Many Teach the Word, but do they grasp its power? There is a much deeper meaning to behold in Yah’s Word than many provide, and the power is lost in empty words.

Prop:

If you desire to receive a richer, deeper meaning to Yah’s Word that requires a sincere relationship of submission and trust!

Body:

                                                            Are You Ready?

The best example of this theory that I can offer would be the number of versions of the Bible which exist.

Why are there so many versions of the same Word?

Because people are seeing the Word from their own perspective, based upon educational background, schools of thought, and beliefs.

In the text today the Disciples were confused as to why Yeshua was speaking to the crowds in parables.

Yeshua explained that the spiritual condition of the crowd was unrighteous, so they only came to be entertained. Perceiving that they came for carnal reasoning He gave them carnal information about spiritual matters.

  • We cannot relate with God until we die of self and earthly ideologies
  • When our heart is in the wrong place Yeshua can speak to us but we won’t hear or see Him working
  • The Disciples also struggled to truly believe in Yeshua as Spiritual Lord. They saw Him as an earthly Lord who would eventually setup an earthly kingdom
  • Man’s eyes/ears must be opened by the Holy Spirit in order to hear Yah.

Many have an earthly understanding of Yah’s Word, Promises, Purpose, and Laws.

  • They cannot see nor understand Holy ideas because they are unholy
  • They read and hear the Word with carnal eyes and ears, they are blind and deaf
  • They are not in God’s Presence, so they can neither see nor hear Him
  • They use it to manipulate and deceive others

Ex 21:16 KJV (Yah is against slavery period)

16 And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

Ex 21:20 KJV

20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

Ex 21:20 NIV

20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,

Note: the word “Slave” actually means “Indentured Servant”.

Europeans created “Chattel Slavery” in the form used in the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

Changing the meaning of words created, in their minds, the justification for wicked actions taken.

Indentured: relating to, done by, or being an indentured servant

Slave: a person who is the property of and wholly subject to another and forced to provide unpaid labor.

Eph 6:5 KJV

5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Eph 6:5 NIV

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Point of fact, not everyone preaching or teaching the Word should be trusted.

Some people simply cannot hear/see Yahuwah.

  • Teach/preach the Word, but haven’t actually surrendered to Yah
  • Confused about what Salvation is and requires
  • Aren’t prepared to truly surrender to Yah’s requirements
    • Don’t desire to surrender
    • Want to give people the impression they have surrendered
  • Don’t intend to surrender
    • Just prostituting the Word for money
    • Don’t wish to change, but want to appease their conscience
  • Some don’t wish to convey the Word’s true meaning

Therefore, some reasons for many different versions are:

  • Justification for certain actions (Fooling people with no relationship)
  • Manipulation and control of a people
  • Prideful dissent from the norm
  • True desire to discern the godly intent and meaning

True understanding of God’s Word can only from the Holy Spirit’s impartation.

  1. Biblical Foundation: We must be transformed by renewing of our minds.
  2. Lesson Aim: That Believers would release worldly ideas and seek wisdom.
  3. Life Application: We can see and hear Yah working around us when holy.

Two goals:

  1. Challenge your audience to be better. (Change of mind)
  2. Challenge your audience to do better. (Change in actions)

Conclusion:

Relationship and desire cause us to yield to and hear from the Holy Spirit.
