"Don't Ever Stop Praying!"

June 11, 2023 | Pastor Charles P. Akins, Sr.

Passage: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

Introduction:

Prayer is a staple in the life of a Believer! Prayer is the conduit to our relationship with God, as well as the lifeline which rescues us in times of trouble. In essence, prayer is a major part of our entire life!

Proposition:

If you find that you are mentally disrupted consistently, or feeling defeated, lost, or hopeless, then you are probably not praying enough.

Body:

There is never a reason not to be in prayer:

  1. In good times (Gratitude/Thanksgiving)
  2. In times of confusion (Prayer for Clarity)
  3. In sadness (Prayer of Restoration of Joy)
  4. In times of pain (Prayer of Healing)
  5. In times of wrath/anger (Prayer of Peace/Calm)
  6. In times of danger (Prayer of Protection)
  7. In times of need (Prayer of Provision)
  8. In times of distress (Prayer of Rescue)

What, does man believes themselves important enough to stand against what is holy?

Are we officially that far gone?

See, we talk big because God has not revealed his presence to us. The Children of Israel felt the same way until they heard God speak.

Satan knows that we are vulnerable without the Presence of God in our lives.

Thus, prayer has been strategically removed from schools, and we are no longer able to pray in public without offending the satanic! It’s a plot!

Now I wonder how much of our behavior, speech, and even thoughts would continue as is if God presented himself before us.

You already know what would happen. Straighten up, fly right!

What happened when the Twin Towers were bombed? National day of Prayer!

Suddenly there would be a rash of repentant hearts in the earth. Few people would even attempt to continue in the same pattern or lifestyle.

Some immediate changes we would see:

  1. Surge of Humility (Pride would disappear for most)
  2. Repentance would be the norm.
  3. Behavior would change.
  4. Crime would come to an all-time low.
  5. People would begin to reconcile.
  6. Violence would be limited.
  7. People would love their neighbors.
  8. Kumbaya would be the world song!

I like to remind the Believers of the scripture that says:

2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord isthere is liberty.

When you enter the presence of God, when you shut out everything else.

This is when you experience liberty. When you enter praise and worship alone, without worries, fears, doubts, and problems!

When you simply forget everything except trying to hear from and feel God’s Presence!

We have left the need for God’s Presence and convinced ourselves of our intelligence!

We have abandoned the very vehicle of deliverance, freedom, peace, and joy!

We know everything except how to welcome God’s Presence through submission.

What is liberty except freedom!

  • Freedom in heart mind
  • Freedom in your heart
  • Freedom in your Spirit man
  • Freedom in your Soul
  • Freedom in your life
  • Freedom in your choices
  • Freedom in your emotions
  • Freedom to expect better.
  • Freedom to Hope
  • Freedom to Dream
  • Freedom to Believe

Does anyone want to be free?

Then don’t stop praying!

There is somebody out here entering God’s Presence now because they are letting lose the things of this world.

I hear the chains falling even now!!! The fetters are broken, the shackles are loose, and you’re becoming free!!!

We need the knowledge to discern God’s Word, but that comes from God, not just books written of sinful men.

God’s agenda is your freedom. Man’s agenda is your captivity!!! Let us introduce you to God and your freedom!!!

Conclusion:

There is no reason not to pray, unless you serve Satan, and even they pray to Satan.

If you want to stand in the midst of trouble, pray to God your strength!
