Passage: Isaiah 55:7-9
Text: Isa 55:7-9, Philp 2:5, Rom 12:1-2
Title: “Change The Constant of Salvation”
Intro:
The world today wishes for you to believe that you don’t have to be changed to receive the Holy Spirit, and to be in covenant with Yah. But how true is this? Perhaps there is a far more nefarious plan at work to deceive mankind.
Prop:
The Bible is clear that we are very different from Yah, and if we are going to walk with Him, we are the ones who need to change! (See Amos 3:3)
Body:
Are You Ready?
Rom 8:1 is important for a lot of reasons, but none more important than believers taking the correct approach to Salvation.
Don’t allow Satan to condemn you because you aren’t perfect, stay at the Master’s Feet so that you will always be convicted and repent!
Isa 55:7-9 states, “Let the wicked forsake his ways!” Forsake meaning to repent of or turn away from! Change!
I want to dispel the myths, the ideas that once we are saved that’s it, and that we are acceptable as we are. Believers should be in a perpetual mode of growth!
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
Yes, Yah accepts us as sinners when we come to Him to surrender, but this is with the understand that He wants to improve us, and that we are willing to change!
Need necessitates change Saints. If we don’t realize anything wrong within us we will not be amenable to change!
Salvation is a process that we will continue working through until our death.
Being accountable will make the process easier.
Jam 1:2-4
2 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
One of the most powerful pieces of evidence of Salvation in the life of the believer is change:
- Are our appetites different (Proclivities)?
- Are our desires different? (Don’t want the same things physically, etc.)
- Are our ways and thoughts focused elsewhere?
- Have our interests changed? (Friends, activities, conversations, goals)
I want to encourage us all to let go and let God have His way!
Yah wants to change you in ways that will totally improve your entire life!
Don’t just accept change, but rather embrace it!
When we change:
- We can improve our relationship with Yah and others
- We can become more reliable
- We can become more successful
- We can grow, become better, stronger, and more productive
Two goals:
- Ask yourself, how can I commit to be better? (Change of mind)
- Ask yourself, how can I commit to do better? (Change in actions)
Conclusion:
Yah is asking you to change. Are you willing to change? Are you ready to change?
