"Called To Freedom!"
May 25, 2025 | Pastor Charles P. Akins, Sr.
Passage: Deuteronomy 30:1-9
Intro:
Believers are not called to be dominated by this world, but to take dominion from this world and return worship and praise to our God!
Prop:
If you want to be free it begins with seeking and trusting God, not this world!
Body:
Are You Ready?
This is a message for all people, but especially for Ya’Israel!
God intended for you to flourish and not to struggle!
You were not meant to be enslaved, controlled, nor manipulated by anyone!
Ex 14:
11 “And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?
12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.
13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, standstill, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.”
This scripture shows Israel demonstrating a form of Stockholm Syndrome.
Believers are called to freedom spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially.
However, you must understand and accept this in your Spirit Man.
None of the list of things below are conducive to any sort of freedom:
- You cannot serve Yah if you are in any sort of chains
- Your time must be yours to do as you wish/need
- You must have autonomy in your decision-making process
- Your must be free to come as go as Yah directs you
- Your mind must be free to hear Yah’s guidance
- Fear of your oppressor
- Low Self-esteem (Often developed by negative tropes and stereotypes)
- Self-hate stemming from oppression and mistreatment
- Crabs in a bucket mentality (Inability to unite due to divisive input)
- White is not Right, Right is Right (Failure to separate integrity from systems)
- Just because you are in charge doesn’t mean you are good/right
II Cor 4:3 – Don’t allow the world to blind your mind with hate and evil.
Demons attack:
- Your peace with hate, anger, fear, and doubt
- Your purity with Sexual Immorality (Thoughts, images, behaviors)
- Your will with confusion, trials, and upheaval
- Your faith with turmoil, destruction, and theft
- Your sense of identity with destructive criticism (Nonconstructive)
Prayer, fasting, meditation, and study are vital for:
- Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding
- Will power (Steadfastness)
- Faith, trust, and belief
- Obedience
- Discernment
- Biblical Foundation: God has great plans and expectations for His own.
- Lesson Aim: That you learn to live in the freedom of Holiness.
- Life Application: Don’t give the sinful manipulations of this world power.
Two goals:
- Change your mind. Give God the opportunity to make you whole through His Word.
- Change in actions. The only things actually change is by doing things differently! Let the old ways go, and learn a new way!
Conclusion:
Worshipping God in Spirit and in Truth requires surrender and submission.
Let go of the entanglements the narratives of the world so that your mind and heart may be made free!
